Ride-sharing service Lyft to take over Toronto

Uber is getting some competition this December.

Lyft, a popular U.S. ride-sharing service, plans to expand north of the border in its first international move. The company has chosen Toronto as its first location outside of the United States.

70 homeless deaths recorded in 2017

Those living on Toronto’s streets have faced the brunt of extreme weather this year.

At least 70 people experiencing homelessness have died so far in 2017, according to records from the City of Toronto. Of these 70 deaths, over half were people under 48 years old and 57 were men.

Early OSAP applications now open for students

Students can start applying earlier for next years OSAP, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne announced Wednesday.
