Ryerson 2016-17 race car team to compete one last time

Ryerson’s formula racing team is driving their 2016-17 student-built race car for the last time on Saturday in a competition against other Canadian universities.

Ryerson’s chapter of Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), a student race car design and building competition, builds a new race car from scratch every year.

The wait for Rye’s ongoing counselling services is over, for now

For the first time in at least four years, there was no wait for ongoing counselling at the Centre for Student Development and Counselling (CSDC) on Monday.

This time last year, on top of waiting up to two weeks for an assessment appointment with a Ryerson counsellor, students had to wait four to five weeks to access ongoing counselling services.

Utilities, Wi-Fi and trauma: Rye students and grads open up about the health costs of living downtown

Cardboard cutouts plastered with packing tape line the apartment’s teal baseboard vents where they meet the dirty linoleum. While they appear to be holding something together, resident Clara Purdy said the cardboard is there to keep something out: unwanted houseguests.

“I don’t like hearing the mice run in the walls,” said the fourth-year Ryerson fashion communications student. “It still bugs me, even after four years.”
