A man is in serious condition after being stabbed multiple times inside the Eaton Centre, near Yonge Street and Queen Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Toronto police were called to the scene at 2:19 p.m. A TPS spokesperson confirmed to the Ryersonian that one man was arrested outside the Eaton Centre. Police are on the scene investigating.
The victim has been transported to hospital. His injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
There is an area cordoned off in front of HMV, Baskin Robbins and La Senza on level one of the Eaton Centre. There is another area blocked off in front of in front of the MAC cosmetics store.
A Children’s Place employee, who asked to not be named, said she heard popping sounds and saw people running across the mall.
Toronto Eaton Centre security would not comment on the incident.
