This week in street style, Ryerson students brought out pops of colour to brighten up their outfits in the dull winter weather. From a chartreuse coat to a powder pink beanie, it looks like students are ready to step out in their spring style and leave winter greys behind.
Kayla Gladysz
To celebrate International Women’s Day, Gladysz paired a ‘Girl Power’ top with a striped shirt, boyfriend jeans and brown ankle boots. Her casual effortless look was a perfect school outfit for the day.
Why did you wear this outfit today?
I wore it today because it’s International Women’s Day, even though I think every day is International Women’s Day. I love this day; I think it’s so exciting and special. I think it’s important women are feeling empowered every day, but I think it’s really special to have a day. I actually got this shirt as a gift from my brother.
Lodoe Laura
Lodoe mastered winter fashion with a navy sweater and peacoat that she accessorized with hoop earrings, a beige tote and a powder pink beanie. The pops of colour balanced her entire outfit, making it stand out.
What’s your favourite piece from your outfit?
The hat. It’s the only pop of colour in my wardrobe, so I try to wear it to break up the monotone of my outfit.
Julia Payton
Payton brought out all the pink power in her eccentric outfit. She paired a neon pink skirt with a black top, creating the ideal contrast. She accessorized with heart-print sheer pink leggings and a tote.
Why did you wear this outfit today?
I’m a fashion student and I just really like colour, [especially] pink.
Jiselle Fan
Fan brought in the spring colours with a chartreuse coat paired with a multi-coloured plaid jacket underneath. Her white sneakers added in a touch of casual aesthetic and her light denim jeans pulled the entire look together.
Why do you like this outfit?
I just felt like wearing a bright colour on a day like today.
