Yesterday marked the first day of spring, but Mother Nature doesn’t play by the rules. This morning, to celebrate the second day of spring, Torontonians got to enjoy a weird mix of dry snow and hail, which meteorologists have dubbed “graupel.”

According to Environment Canada, this week’s weather will be consistently cold with periods of freezing rain and snow.

The warmest days will be Saturday and Sunday, but that’s only with a high of 5⁰C.

If the cold air and snow weren’t enough, it’s also going to be windy. To put a number on it, wind gusts will peak at 50 km/h today and 40 km/h tonight.

Moral of the story: don’t put your parka away just yet, because winter has a lot of fight left.
