His investigations broke the story that captivated Canadians in late 2014: Jian Ghomeshi’s sexual assault allegations. Jesse Brown will discuss media criticism to a sold-out auditorium at Ryerson this evening. The self-proclaimed “media critic” is the headline speaker at his event “The News, Jian and Me: A Conversation with Jesse Brown.” He’s expected to touch on his experience reporting on Ghomeshi, his use of crowd-funding as income and podcast Canadaland, which he uses to put media criticisms into the public scope.
The Ryersonian reporters Eman Ali, Calvin Dao and Kyanna Vassell will be live-blogging the event, which runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rogers Communications Centre.
