Man stabbed in neck near Yonge and Gerrard

A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in the neck near Yonge and Gerrard streets. (Gabriela Panza-Beltrandi/Ryersonian Staff)

A man was stabbed in the neck near Yonge and Gerrard streets today around 6:20 p.m.

Police say they were responding to an unrelated incident when they came across two young men fighting outside the Yonge Street Mission.

The fight escalated to the street where the stabbing took place.

Police have a suspect in custody.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, has been rushed to the hospital.
