Police were called to a Burger King at Yonge and Shuter Streets this morning, to find a man barricaded inside the restaurant’s washroom.
The 33-year-old allegedly punched an officer in the face, leading Burger King employees to call for further assistance around 7 a.m., reports say.
The same reports say that at least a dozen officers responded, with further reports citing that a taser was possibly used by officers.
This news comes just a week after Toronto police announced that they had arrested two people in connection with a string of fast food restaurant robberies across the city.
The suspect was taken into custody this morning and will be questioned at 51 Division. The officer assaulted is said to have minor injuries as a result.
