RSU releases names of 2016/2017 election candidates

The nominees for the RSU election were announced Monday evening and campaigning is set to start today. Candidates will roughly have  two business days to campaign before voting starts March 7.

Three slates are running in this year’s RSU elections: RU Connected, Impact and the Rhino Party. The rules around campaigning are very specific. Candidates may begin their campaign at 12:01 on March 2. Before that time, members may not relay their platforms to media and may only indicate whether they are interested in running.

The 2016/2017 RSU winter election candidate include:

President:

  • Awo Abokor – RU Connected
  • Obaid Ullah – Impact
  • Taspia Wahid – Rhino Party

Vice President Education

  • Martin FoxRU Connected
  • Victoria Morton – Impact

Vice President Equity Candidates

  • Tamara Jones – Impact 
  • Susanne Nyaga – RU Connected

Vice President Operations Candidates

  • Arman Adeli – RU Connected
  • Neal Muthreja – Impact

Vice President Student Life and Events Candidates

  • Rumana Fardaush – RU Connected
  • Harman Singh – Impact 
  • Tyler Nagata – Rhino Party
