A picture of Toronto Raptor Kyle Lowry with a basketball? No big deal.
Lowry at the Mattamy Athletic Centre? I’m listening.
Add in a drone and a cryptic message of more to come? I gotta know!
The Raptors’ bulldog-like point guard tweeted a picture of himself at the MAC on Sunday with a basketball and a drone. The caption read: “Drone meet Spalding. Stay tuned.”

The picture and the caption were intriguing on their own but the MAC added to the mystery with their own photo:
Hmmmm the court looks familiar @Klow7.. ? @Raptors @SportChek #ryerson https://t.co/48K6JATPHw — MAC at the Gardens (@MattamyAC) October 26, 2015
Does Lowry have something big planned with Sport Chek? What was he doing at the MAC? Why the hell does he have a drone?
Raptors’ media coordinator Philip Summers doesn’t know and neither does Ryerson Sports Information Coordinator Jim McLarty. Sport Chek’s Public Relations didn’t respond to our requests.
The MAC’s director of sales and marketing Carmelina Federico knows what’s going on but all she would say was that the facility was rented out by a third party called Spectra, an entertainment company that specializes in venue management—among other things—and a part of Comcast Corporation.
“There is a confidentiality agreement in place and we are not allowed to disclose,” Federico said. “As Kyle says: ‘Stay tuned!’”
And so the plot thickens.
