A panel of transit specialists and student commuters came together Monday to discuss how students need more representation in future transit policies and development in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).
The panel, held at Toronto City Hall, was organized by Student Move T.O., an organization bringing together four of the GTHA’s major universities to improve transit for the over 175,000 students who commute to school. With the help of York University, the University of Toronto, OCAD University and Ryerson University, Student Move T.O. is hoping to collect data on how students commute so future transit development and policies better reflect the needs of students.
The survey will be emailed to every student in the four universities over the next two months. The data will be available to the public next fall.
