New Ryerson University partnership to help workers secure employment by providing essential skills training
“Purgatory Pilgrims,” a group of students from Ryerson, won the second-place prize of $600 for their app that provides help with language skills, job hunting and access to emergency lines.
Ryerson became the first Canadian university to be named an Ashoka Changemaker U today. The designation recognizes 24 institutions globally as leaders in social innovation. To earn the designation, Ryerson paid a fee and completed an application process that involved individual interviews and travel to Arlington, Va.
