St. George and Bloor-Yonge stations should have Wi-Fi by December, the TTC confirmed Thursday.

Spokesperson Brad Ross confirmed Wi-Fi and cell phone service will be available on the platforms and within the station, but there are no plans to have it available on the trains.

“Will do a bit of testing around this to make sure it’s meeting all of our needs and all of our customers’ needs, as well as the supplier, which is BAI Canada,” Ross told 680 News.

The TTC outlined their plan to have the service available in two stations by the end of the year in their five-year corporate plan – a deadline they are on track to meeting. Other goals include one-person operation on the Yonge-University Spadina line and the new streetcars rolling out, both slated for next year.
