Don’t get too excited about the warm, sunny days we’ve been enjoying; they’re not here to stay. A severe winter storm is expected to hit Toronto early Tuesday night, according to an alert from Environment Canada.

Along with low temperatures, the storm is expected to bring 15 to 30 cm of heavy snow, low visibility and possibly freezing rain and ice pellets. Be prepared for a longer commute, transportation delays and poor driving conditions. If you do need to travel, Environment Canada has advised to keep others informed of your schedule and to always have a cellphone and emergency kit ready.

The storm is expected to hit most of southern Ontario throughout Tuesday night. Follow www.ryersonian.ca for all your local storm coverage.
