Taking place from Jan. 20-26 across the city is the Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO). With over 60 events, installations and displays, the objective of this weeklong showcase is to celebrate the best efforts in Canadian design. For the social butterfly:
Join the Ryerson Fashion Zone this Tuesday for a night of fashion and fun. The Winter Storm Party is taking place from 7-11 p.m. in the Sears Atrium of the George Vari Engineering Building. Does fundraising through playing games and eating food interest you? A Festival for a Festival is a two-part event, taking place on Jan. 22 from 3-8 p.m. at Ted Rogers and the Mattamy Athletic Centre. You’ll be able to learn about the host organizations (the Ryerson Commerce Society and the Ryerson International Experiential Learning Program), as well as participate in the second annual Students vs. Faculty Basketball Game.

Learn how to avoid the pitfalls of Twitter and Facebook on Jan. 23 by attending Social Media: The Other Side, from 12-1 p.m. (location TBA). Join Toronto-based artists Laurie Kang, Susy Oliveira and Lili Huston-Herterich as they hold an experimental panel discussion in the Image Arts Building on Jan. 23 from 7-9 p.m. This CONVERGE Lecture Series, “Sense and Sensitivity: A Panel on Photography and Materiality,” will explore the relationship between different art forms, and their use and misuse of photography.
