NBA Legend and global basketball ambassador Dikembe Mutombo made his first-ever appearance at Ryerson University this week on behalf of Special Olympics Canada.
The nine-time NBA all-star ran an instructional clinic at Coca-Cola Court to work with athletes from Toronto-area schools on the fundamentals of the game.
“(The Special Olympics) is one of the most wonderful organizations in the world,” said Mutombo, known for his humanitarian work since retiring in 2009 after an 18-year pro career. “They are very dedicated to all the young children here in Canada.”
Dan graduated from the Ryerson School of Journalism in 2014.
