Gould Street will be shut down until the end of the fall semester for water main upgrades and to ensure the community has access to safe drinking water, according to the City of Toronto.

A construction team will work on the maintenance project on the pedestrian street from Yonge Street to Mutual Street until early December, according to an email from acting general manager William Fernandes.

The City of Toronto is overseeing construction as part of its plan called the Capital Works Program to fix aging infrastructure and address water main breaks, according to a city notice.

Construction on the Kerr Hall Quad is also ongoing. It was supposed to be completed by early September but work will continue until November at the earliest.
