Resumption of collection activities

Due to COVID-19, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) paused all collection activities since March 2020, including the issuance of monthly statement of accounts. The collection activities will resume on November 2, 2020.

ESDC will restart sending statement of accounts on a monthly basis. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) are responsible for collecting accounts receivable on our behalf. They will contact debtors, when applicable.

Refer to the Directive on Overpayments and Repayments or the following:

• information on the available payment methods
• to establish a payment arrangement, or
• to obtain details on a debt

We will use the payments to your account to cover the oldest debt first, unless you advise us otherwise. Your payments will appear on subsequent monthly statements. If it's not the case, please contact CRA.
