Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. These are the top three social networks and are used by millions of people across the world.
Yet, these online identities can be viewed by anyone, including potential employers. Hamza Khan, Ryerson University’s Digital Community Facilitator, says that one out of three employers will reject candidates based on something they discover about them online.
“I know for a fact that 93 per cent of employers in North America looked for candidates via social media, or at least scanned them once they entered the application process,” says Khan.
