Shop the SLC: A Holiday Market

The SLC Holiday Market is back. The annual event was first hosted last year and was a success. The three-day market place will showcase 25+ Ryerson community vendors that set up in the SLC amphitheatre. Each day, there will be different themed vendors for food, fashion, handmade items, Ryerson faculty society merchandise and more. If you haven’t started your holiday shopping yet, this is a good opportunity to pick up some gifts while also supporting Ryerson’s vendors.

This year’s vendors are:

  • Nudy Patooty, women’s fashion line (Fashion Zone)
  • Capitatine Crochet, handmade knitwear (Occupational Health & Safety Program)
  • Transient Turtle, handmade bohemian style items (Ryerson Alumni)
  • Rams Spirit Wear, clothing (Ryerson Athletics)
  • Monkey Hut Cafe, coffee and pasteries (Ryerson start-up)

Photos with Santa

You’re never too old to take photos with Santa. He will be making his way to the SLC lobby early next week. The event is hosted by WiSe Talk – a one day conference to educate, empower, and encourage high school girls to explore a career in the sport media industry at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (Mac) on Feb. 11, 2017. All proceeds will go towards helping them fund their conference.

Holiday pictures with Santa and other festive items

If you don’t want to pay $5 for a photo with Santa at the SLC, Ryerson’s Trek for Teens club is also having holiday pictures with Santa and other festive items. Trek for teens is a non-profit organization created to raise funds and awareness for homeless youth in local communities. Admission is a minimum $1 donation or a non-perishable food item, that will go towards helping homeless youth in local communities.

Ryerson Community Holiday Celebration

End off your busy week with Ryerson’s annual holiday celebration. The festivities will be hosted by Ryerson president Mohamed Lachemi at the MAC. Students, faculty and staff are invited to enjoy a free skate and good food. The event will also celebrate achievements and the end of a successful year at Ryerson.

Cost: A nonperishable food item to support RSU’s Good Food Centre.
