Gridlock on GTA highways costs households $125 per year, according to a recent report by the Toronto Region Board of Trade.

The report found traffic on roads in the Toronto-Waterloo corridor disrupts the delivery of $3 billion worth of goods trucked through daily. Those delays end up costing the region up to $400 million annually.

The Toronto Region Board of Trade acknowledges that $125 (which doesn’t include the increased consumer prices resulting from delays), “may not seem like much on its own.”

But here’s what $125 could get you near Ryerson:

I'm working as an audio producer at The Ryersonian as part of my fourth year in Ryerson's journalism program. In Fall 2017, I interned at CBC Radio show Day 6. I was the business and technology editor at The Eyeopener between May 2016 and May 2017. I've got three-years' worth of bylines at that paper. Along with Jacob Dubé and Mitchell Thompson, I co-host and produce Radio Free Krypton, a comic book radio show/podcast on CJRU 1280 AM.
