Learn about trainingFounded in 1975, The 519 is Canada’s most prominent LGBTQ2S community centre and service provider. A registered Canadian charity, The 519 is committed to the health, happiness, and full participation of LGBTQ2S communities in Toronto and beyond.
We offer essential programs, services and supports that are LGBTQ2S-focused and affirming, including education and training for individuals and organizations; legal services, counselling, and community support programs; programming for children and families, 2 Spirit, trans, and non-binary communities, and seniors; and refugees and newcomers settlement services. We also provide an affirming space for our communities to gather; and lead advocacy initiatives for LGBTQ2S human rights and equity.
The 519 has served as a valuable and vibrant hub for LGBTQ2S communities in Toronto and beyond, as well as for residents of Toronto’s Church and Wellesley neighbourhood, and continues to be an affirming first touchpoint for many queer, trans and two-spirit folks looking to find community.
