Disgraced former CBC Radio host Jian Ghomeshi pled not guilty today to all charges against him in court at Old City Hall.
Ghomeshi is facing four counts of sexual assault and one for choking. When he entered his plea at the pre-trial proceedings, it was the first time he’d spoken in all of his court appearances thus far.
The former “Q” host was fired from the CBC almost one year ago amid the initial accusations. In May, two sexual assault charges against him were dropped due to lack of evidence, leaving him with the five charges he faced today.
On arrival at the courthouse today, Ghomeshi entered the building flanked by his lawyer and security. He did not respond to any questions from the media.
His trial will commence on February 1, 2016 and will be decided by a judge, not a jury.
