Kalen Schlatter, the Toronto man accused in the murder of Tess Richey, appeared in court briefly Thursday via video.
Schlatter was initially charged by Toronto Police with second-degree murder, but Wednesday police upgraded the charge to first-degree murder.
His next court appearance is scheduled for April 23 at College Park via video.
