Fifth-year student Nick Lambis has set a new record for most goals scored in Ryerson men’s soccer history.
Since his first year on the team in 2013, Lambis has scored 34 times.
The striker surpassed the record previously held by Viktor Anastasov, an alumnus who wore number nine, the same as Lambis.

After scoring more than 30 times for the Rams, Lambis said that his first goal with the team is still the most memorable.
“It was the very last play of the game — the last kick of the ball. The ball went out for a corner and the cross came in. I remember it pretty vividly. It was a little bit behind me. I wrapped my foot around it, hit it in the corner and everybody just kind of rushed me.”
That goal was just the first of many. In the following years, Lambis became a leader on the field and the scoreboard.
“He just finds a way to put the ball in the net,” said Filip Prostran, head coach of Ryerson men’s soccer team. “Sometimes it is pretty, sometimes it is ugly, sometimes it is unconventional. He is the kind of guy that embodies what kind of striker fits with this program.”
In his final season this year, the team was close to reaching nationals, but lost in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Final Four matchup against York University.
His career as a Rams athlete ended with an OUA bronze medal on Nov. 3.
“It was a bit emotional,” Lambis said. “It was tough. It was hard to even get up for that, but when you remember it is your last final game, you might as well go out with a bronze.”
Lambis scored one of Ryerson’s three goals in the bronze medal match against McMaster University — a fitting way to finish off his time as a Rams athlete.
