About Me

Hi! My name is Kelly and I'm a reporter in southern Saskatchewan currently working for Global News Regina. When I was a kid I spent my mornings reading the Saskatoon Star Phoenix (support local journalism!) and eating honey nut cheerios or Eggos. My favourite day in school was current event day, where I'd get to share a news story with the class. To be honest, it was hard to pick just ONE. Needless to say, I've known I wanted to be a journalist for a long time.

When I was 18 and fresh out of high school I packed my bags and moved to the big city to study at Ryerson School of Journalism. My time there was absolutely thrilling and I am so thankful for the learning opportunity. While reporting in Toronto is certainly exciting, I always knew I wanted to return home to kick off my reporting career. In March 2020 I began an internship at Global News Saskatoon where I got experience covering court trials, the foster care system, local businesses adapting to COVID-19 and more!

In October I packed my bags once again and headed north to Prince Albert, reporting on the community and surrounding area!

Journalistic interests: Crime, court trials, data and investigative reporting, breaking news, features.
