Police are investigating a homicide, after a man was struck dead by a vehicle early this morning at Dundas Street East and Parliament Street.
Police said he was dragged several metres before the car came to a stop at Regent Street.
The unidentified victim may have been on the road after a fight with someone else when he was struck fatally by the car, say police.
At this point, police do not believe the driver was involved in the original dispute.
Detectives were at the scene through most of the morning from about 6a.m.
Dundas Street East was closed for several hours but was later reopened and regular streetcar service resumed.
An autopsy will reveal the precise cause of death.
