Ryerson photojournalism professor Peter Bregg will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 17th Annual Canadian Journalism Foundation Awards.
Bregg has worked as a photographer in the field for more than 40 years, 17 of those spent working at Maclean’s as chief photographer.
He’s photographed major events including presidential trips, eight Olympic Games and the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York.
“Being the first photographer given this award is fantastic,” Bregg said in a release. “I know a few of the past winners and being in same room as them was an honour. Now I am on the same list. How cool is that!”
Bregg teaches both introductory and advanced photojournalism at Ryerson’s school of journalism.
The awards ceremony will take place on June 4 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.
Bruce graduated from the Ryerson School of Journalism in 2014.
