Pro-life demonstrators disrupted pedestrian traffic on Gould Street this afternoon, but were interrupted by responses from pro-choice demonstrators.
The Ryerson Students’ Union (RSU) was quick to release a statement on Twitter saying that the protest was not affiliated with Ryerson or the RSU.
In the statement, the RSU apologized for the group’s graphic imagery, but said they could not make the demonstrators leave campus.
“The pro-life folks on campus were making students feel really uncomfortable,” said Camryn Hirlick, a second-year criminology student.
The Ryersonian arrived at the scene around 2:30 p.m. Shortly after, Ryerson students began a pro-choice protest in response to the pro-life group. The pro-life demonstrators had already left.
