Racism Incident Reporting Centre

A community-based reporting tool to track incidents of racism

project 1907 has partnered with Vancouver Asian Film Festival on the Elimin8hate campaign, bringing our respective initiatives together to form one centralized racism reporting centre. The aim of this partnership is to build a more coordinated effort in understanding the impacts of rising anti-Asian racism.

The Elimin8hate reporting centre collects data on incidents of racism, hate and violence experienced by the Asian diaspora in Canada. In the aggregate, data will be used to develop strategies, design interventions, raise awareness, advocate for policies and improve outcomes for our communities.

We acknowledge that all Black, Indigenous and People of Colour experience racism on a daily basis, and we stand in solidarity with all racialized groups. This initiative focuses on the experiences of people in the Asian diaspora, in response to growing anti-Asian sentiment resulting from COVID-19. Our deepest appreciation to the Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (A3PCON) and Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) in the USA for being leaders in this effort.
