Canadians continued to give the Blue Jays their support. Brian So, who watched the Blue Jays game at Nathan Phillips Square Friday declared himself a “fan until [he] dies.”
Even Mayor John Tory commemorated the Blue Jays hard-fought performance by proclaiming Oct. 27 as Blue Jays Appreciation Day.

“This season, especially in the last half and the playoff run, the Blue Jays made the city cheer. It made the city believe. It brought the city together as kind of one city,” Tory said during the press conference on Monday morning.
The Blue Jays’ season ended last Friday when the Kansas City Royals defeated the Canadian baseball team with a 4-3 in the American League Championship Series.

Third-year RTA student Sarah Levinsky, who wore a Blue Jays cap, said watching the season was “painful, but I loved it. I loved every minute of it.”
Gary Francis, a Blue Jays fan for 10 years said, “That’s the first time a Toronto team, other than Raptors, made it to playoffs. It’s really special and gave people in Toronto a lot of hope.”
Sarah said she’d definitely watch the games next year.
