Every student needs a do-it-all bag they can take to class. It needs to last a long time — without breaking the bank — and still look stylish. Here are a few that we liked this week.
Andrew Sigmaringan, social work, third-year
Andrew’s Herschel bag is the perfect backpack for students. Herschel bags are affordable and come in a variety of colours and styles. Andrew’s navy bag is paired with tan straps, giving it a European feel. His entire look is nautical themed and comes across as breezy, light and crisp — the perfect contrast to a chilly, fall day.
Darina Granik, fashion (master’s), second-year
Darnia’s Aldo bag is a fabulous mix of basic, muted colours with embellishments like faux snake skin and gold hardware to take it from a basic on-the-go bag to more of a statement piece. Her outfit is spot-on, as the colours in the bag are echoed in her jacket and scarf, giving her a cohesive look.
Aimee Nsangu, fashion communications, third-year
Aimee’s beautiful cognac bag from Aldo has the looks of a leather purse and the practicality of a backpack. The brown leather goes well with the gold zippers, and is a refreshing departure from the campus norm of brown or navy nylon. Overall, Aimee’s outfit is dark and understated, bringing attention to her beautiful bag.
Alex Digioseffo, communications and culture (master’s), second-year
Alex picked up her navy satchel in London, U.K., from Urban Outfitters. We love how well it has aged, morphing into a well-worn and comfortable everyday bag that can add a sense of charm to any outfit. Alex’s bag is the focus of her look, and the rest of her clothing does a great job of complimenting its classic styling.
