NASA hinted on Thursday, September 24 that they would “detail a major science finding” on Monday, September 28. The scientific community was not disappointed with this morning’s announcement that there is water flowing on Mars.
Scientists know that there is ice on the big red planet and that water used to flow in the cold climate, but this is the first evidence of liquid water on Mars, today. Water can flow on Mars in freezing temperatures because it’s high salt content lowers it’s freezing point.
Some space geeks were hoping that NASA found aliens, but liquid water is a precursor for life, which means NASA is one step closer to finding extraterrestrial life forms.
