It’s finally December! What better way to welcome the holiday season then by going out an exploring the wonderful events happening in the city.
1.Treasure Island
The School of Performance is performing Treasure Island, the classic adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. The play centres around Jim Hawkins, a 14-year-old who longs for adventure, and the infamous Long John Silver, who is a complex study of good and evil, perhaps the most famous hero-villain of all time. Second City is putting on a comedy show that mocks the struggles people face during the holiday season. The show is full of boisterous, raunchy humour, plus did we mention they serve spiked hot chocolate!?

3. One of a Kind Christmas Show & Sale
Over 800 Canadian designers and artisans will be showcasing their homemade arts and goods. This Christmas themed marketplace has been taking place in Toronto since 1975. You can buy tickets at the door or from the One of a Kind Show website.
Location: Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place, 100 Princes’ Blvd., Toronto
Date: Nov. 24 – Dec. 4
Time: Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Sundays: 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Cost: Adults $15; $13 ($2 savings purchasing online) Seniors/Youth (13-17) $7.50; Children (12 & under) free.
4. CBC Sounds of the Season
CBC radio hosts and some popular television stars will be hosting CBC Toronto’s annual charity drive to support local food banks. The event features live programming, entertainment and giveaways.

Date: Dec. 2.
Time: 5:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Cost: It’s FREE but cash or food donations are encouraged.
5. Oakham House Choir Presents: Ringing and Singing Gloria
The Oakham House Choir will be putting on another memorable concert. They will be performing Vivaldi’s “Gloria”, Mendelssohn’s “From Heaven on High,” excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah,” and a number of other Christmas pieces.

Date: Dec. 3
Time: 7 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Cost: $30 at the door, $25 in advance, $15 students, ages 12 and under are free.
